In between here, I didn't remember to take any pictures, so I'll tell you about it. We went to the Johnston Family Thanksgiving Dinner. Lots of food for lots of people. Kevin hasn't seen a lot of my family for a while, so when people wanted to hold him he got a little upset. He's going through the stranger anxiety phase these days. He'll smile at almost anyone as long as either one of his parents are holding him, but he almost immediately cries when we pass him to someone he's not familiar with. Too bad. We need to visit everyone or invite everyone over more often. We stayed busy all day. He was a good sport. After Ellis played football with everyone and we sang a couple of songs together(including Happy Birthday to Kevin), it was time to go home and prepare the house for Kevin's birthday party. We pulled it together right before the Rygg clan showed up. We waited a little bit for Grandma Johnston to come, and then we set him up on the table with his own pumpkin pie. As you can tell, he's not too sure what to think about it.
He warmed up the idea eventually. I took video of the progress, but it's 5 minutes long. I won't bore you with it. Here's the final outcome. He didn't mind the mess at all. It was fun to watch.
Then came the presents. He wasn't sure what to do with the presents either, so we helped him get them open. He was happy with every new thing.
He loves the books and train and rolling toy. We didn't have batteries for the ball popping toy, but Alice helped him have fun without them. It was fun to see them play together.
Finally, we tried to get a happy shot of both of them in their rocking chairs from Great Grandma Cook, but this was the best one I got. It's still rather cute even if they both look a little dazed.
Then to finish the day off, Grandma Rygg read him one of his new books. He loves books, so he was happy with that. Altogether it was a great birthday.
